Construction has officially begun at the CACSC!
On Monday, August 10, we officially broke ground on our Opening Doors Capital Campaign Renovation, marking an exciting milestone in the future of the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County!
This project is about more than construction, it is about opening doors to new possibilities, creating space for growth, and expanding the support we’re able to provide to children and families in our community.
And the first steps are already underway! Our construction crew has officially began digging into our parking lot as part of the renovation. Soon, this space will become an extension of our main building, creating much-needed room for the CACSC to grow and better serve the children and families who walk through our doors.
While construction has officially begun, there is still work ahead to make this vision a reality. We are currently in the Mabee Foundation grant matching phase, and we are looking for community partners, businesses, and supporters who want to help us reach the finish line. Every partnership brings us one step closer to creating the space our children and families deserve.
There’s a lot of work ahead, but we couldn’t be more excited to watch this vision become a reality. We’re looking forward to sharing this journey with you every step of the way as we open doors, expand possibilities, and build a brighter future for the children and families we serve.
Stay tuned for more updates as construction continues!

July 2026
Our Capital Campaign continues to make meaningful progress, bringing us closer to expanding our facility and increasing our capacity to serve children and families throughout Sedgwick County.
We are proud to announce that The Wallace Foundation has awarded the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County a $500,000 grant in support of our building expansion project. This transformational investment will help create the additional space and resources needed to meet the growing demand for our services and ensure more children have access to the care, advocacy, and healing they deserve.
This exciting milestone reflects the incredible generosity of our donors, community partners, and supporters who have believed in this vision from the very beginning. Every gift moves us one step closer to creating a safer, more welcoming environment where children and families can receive the comprehensive services they need—all under one roof.
We are sincerely grateful to The Wallace Foundation and to everyone who has contributed to the success of our Capital Campaign. Your support is helping us build a stronger future for children and families across Sedgwick County. We look forward to sharing additional updates as we continue this exciting journey together.
May 2026
We are proud to officially announce our Opening Doors Capital Campaign and share that we have been awarded the JE & LE Mabee Foundation Capstone Challenge Grant!
The JE & LE Mabee Foundation has awarded the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County a transformational $1.88 million challenge grant, providing tremendous momentum toward our $14 million comprehensive campaign. To secure the full Mabee grant, CACSC must raise an additional $3.8 million by March 2027. This extraordinary investment allows us to continue moving forward with plans to expand our facility, strengthen critical programs, and increase access to life changing services for children and families impacted by abuse and trauma. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and inspired by the community support helping make this vision possible. Together, we are building a stronger future where more children can find safety, healing, and hope.
We are so thankful for our incredible community and cannot wait to continue sharing updates as this journey unfolds. Your support allows us to continue serving children and families in our community, and we truly could not do this work without you. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
