April 5 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Kansas law states that most professionals who work with children, including medical professionals, social workers, nurses, educators and more, are mandated reporters. This means that they are required by law to report suspicion of child abuse or neglect. Participants of this training will be able to define the various types of abuse and neglect, identify signs and symptoms of each type, and address areas of risk and protective factors. In addition, participants will learn the appropriate responses to suspected abuse or neglect, discuss what to do in the event of child disclosure, and understand Kansas mandated reporter laws. This training is approved by KDHE for 1.0 child care licensing hours. This is a virtual event.
