ACEs & Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope

Extremely stressful experiences in childhood can alter brain development and have lifelong effects on health and behavior. This one-hour documentary, “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope” examines into the science of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent Toxic Stress. The film is followed by a facilitated discussion to enhance understanding of childhood trauma. This is being offered virtually.

CEUs: This training is approved by KDHE for 2 child care licensing hours. BSRB approved.

Target Audience: Parents, foster parents and other adults, especially those that coach, counsel, or otherwise work with children or provide youth-based services. This includes but is not limited to educators, medical staff, law enforcement, victim advocates, therapists, childcare providers, youth sports personnel and youth group leaders.
